Dr. Sudeep Taksali is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon in private practice at Hope Orthopaedics of Oregon. Dr. Taksali has degrees in Biology and Economics from Stanford University.
His background in Economics provides him a unique perspective to health care systems. He completed his medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago. After medical school he went on to Yale University to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. He obtained his orthopaedic trauma fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at University of Texas, Southwestern and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, one of the busiest trauma centres in the county.
He also participated in the world renowned International Trauma Fellowship program at Hanover Medical School in Germany. Prior to joining Hope Orthopaedics he worked at Kaiser Permanente, widely recognized as one of the top performing and largest managed care health systems in the United States. While at KP he gained substantial experience developing health care quality initiatives, clinical care pathways, proactive health management and in integrated health systems. He served as one of the physician leaders of the highest performing osteoporosis program in the United States. He also served as the co-chair of the local product council.
This experience allowed him to obtain in-depth knowledge and management experience in health contracting, supply chain management, medical technology and integration of new products. In his current position he has been tasked to develop and lead a geriatric fracture centre of excellence, a health care provider communication project (to improve patient satisfaction), and a physician assistant educational curriculum.
